SAGUDAY, Qurino, Jan.18 - -The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) expressed appreciation over the completion of the Addalam River Irrigation Project in Saguday Quirino after several years of delay in project completion.
The project was implemented by the National Irrigation Authority (NIA) starting in 1997. Given the project’s importance, the RPMC undertook several monitoring visits to track and help in facilitating its completion since the start of project implementation.
The project now benefits a total of 4,500 farmer beneficiaries covering a total of 5,830hectares. The newly- irrigated riceland are located in the municipalities of Saguday, and Aglipay in Quirino Province and Echague, and Jones in the province of Isabela.
The completion of the project was announced by Project Manager Estanislao Najera during the 1st Quarter Committee Meeting of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) in Saguday, Quirno.
