RPMC recognizes Q-life’s benefits to unemployed Quirinians

CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) region 2 members recognized the Quirino-Livelihood for Everyone (Q-Life), a project of the provincial government of Quirino aimed at uplifting the living condition of the marginalized Quirinians.

NEDA assistant regional Mary Ann E.R. Darauay said the project is worth replicating and very encouraging as it helps in uplifting the lives of the people and improving the economy of the region.
“This is worth replicating. I do hope that other LGUs will also implement the same to serve the farmers and the lowly entrepreneurs,” Darauay said.

Rodelio Diego, project coordinator, said Q-Life has already benefited more than 1,600 unemployed individuals in the 112 covered barangays.

“It aims to provide additional income to poor families and unemployed individuals in different barangays to attain Governor Junie Cua’s thrusts of social development. Of the 132 barangays, 112 were already covered by the project,” Diego said.

Some of the livelihood projects given to the beneficiaries were tilapia production, pangasius culture, quail production, catfish culture, mushroom production, broiler production, and chicken, pig, swine and goat raising.

Aside from these, some beneficiaries are also into feed mill operation, fish hatchery, meat shop outlets, stores, and the newly established dairy processing plant.

“The provincial government and the beneficiaries signed an agreement to operate the projects. To ensure sustainability, we deploy some personnel to monitor constantly the operation of the projects,” Diego said.

Diego further said that they target full coverage of all barangays within this year and report success stories to encourage others to replicate the project. (OTB/PIA-2)
