RPMC conducts monitoring visits to RLA projects in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, April 18 (PIA) – The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) represented by its Project Monitoring Team conducted a two-day field monitoring visit (FMV) in 708 April, 2016  to everal projects of three regional implementing line agencies to validate projects’ physical progress and accomplishment reports.

The projects validated in Cagayan include those of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

 

Mechanized Forest Nursery keeps the National Greening Program (NGP) on-track

The goal to augment the region’s forest cover is realistically attainable as DENR Region 2 ventured into a more efficient technique of seedling production. The state-of-the-art Modernized/Mechanized Forest Nursery aims to produce high quality seedlings for planting in the areas identified for reforestation through the NGP. The MMFN in Solana, Cagayan was visited last April 8, 2016 by the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) Project Monitoring Team composed of members from DILG, PIA, DBM and NEDA.  Forester Felix C. Taguba, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) for Cagayan, personally welcomed the monitoring team.

 

NRO2 and RPMC to make M & E more effective through the RPMES

The National Economic and Development Authority RO2 (NR02) and the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) of the RDC2 successfully conducted a 2-day Orientation-Workshop on the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) on 10-11 March 2016 at Patio Lorenzo, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.

This is in recognition of the importance of the RPMES as an institutional mechanism on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of all development programs and projects implemented nationwide.

Forty-two participants from RPMC members/institutions particularly  from the  Provincial Local Government Units of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino and City Government of Tuguegarao; Department of Budget Management; and Private Sector Representatives; including other Regional Line Agencies as project  implementers and NEDA R02 technical staff actively participated in the said activity. Likewise, representatives from the local Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) of the City of Tuguegarao, Santiago and Ilagan attended the activity.

 

Improvements of major thoroughfares are essential to the region’s development

Continuous improvement and preservation of major thoroughfares in the region will lead to better access and movement of goods and services and other economic activities in the region.  Better roads will lower the cost of transporting goods and agricultural produce. It will likewise provide convenience to commuting public as it reduces fares and travel time due to smoother traffic flows.

Year by year, several road construction, rehabilitation and road repairs are programmed and implemented under the Regular Infrastructure Program of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

 

RPMC Monitors Infra Projects in Isabela

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Oct. 6 (PIA) – The Project Monitoring Team of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) here recently conducted a two-day Field Monitoring Visit (FMV) to selected major infrastructure projects under the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) Regular Infrastructure Program for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th district of Isabela.

Major infrastructure projects visited by the RPMC team include the P18.9 Million worth of Mallig River Flood Control Project- Maligaya Section;  P20 Million Road Re-blocking project with Drainage along San Mateo; P15 Million National and Arterial Road Widening project in Cabatuan; P18 million Magabito Bridge Expansion project in Mabini, Santiago City; and the P33 Million San Luis Bridge Expansion in Cordon, Isabela.

 

RPMC Monitoring Team Validates NGAs and LGUs’ Program and Projects

The Project Monitoring Team of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) have recently monitored and evaluated several development projects funded by the national government and locally generated resources at the provincial level.

Mageline S. de Laza of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) here, said the three-day field monitoring visit aimed to assess and ascertain whether project implementers have executed the plan based on the standards and specifications contained in their respective Program of Works and determine if the projects implemented are supportive of regional development goals and plans as well as national development thrusts and priorities.

 

11 Newly Completed School Buildings and 24 New Classrooms Address the Needs of K to 12 Program in the Province of Cagayan

The implementation of the K to 12 Program of the government which started in 2013 requires additional classroom facilities to supplement the program.  Acknowledging this issue, the Department of Education (DepEd) has taken actions to address the anticipated classroom shortages. The Public-Private Partnership School Infrastructure Project (PSIP II) and Basic Education Facilities (BEF) Projects are among the programs aimed at easing classroom shortages. In the region, these projects are being implemented in selected sites.
