Housing Program for the Cagayan Provincial Government Employees underway
The Provincial Government of Cagayan is currently developing the Provincial Government Employees Housing Program (PGEHP) aimed to assist the qualified provincial government employees by providing housing lots at a minimal cost. The project is located in Carig Norte, Tuguegarao City covering 39, 545 sq. m. and in Patagueleg, Peñablanca with an area of 345, 760 sq. m.
According to Mr. Mar Dela Cruz of the Provincial Planning and Development Office-Cagayan, the site in Peñablanca would have an estimated 1, 450 lots while 215 lots are earmarked in Tuguegarao City. By 2013, the Provincial Government is expecting development of housing units in both areas.
Monitoring team lauds sustainable reforestation project in Peñablanca, Cagayan
The Philippine Peñablanca Sustainable Reforestation Project (PPSRP) in Peñablanca, Cagayan was lauded by the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) during a project visit yesterday, 6 June, 2012.
The PPSRP seeks to bring sustainable provision of ecosystem services to local communities’ well-being through appropriate management of forest resources and improvement of their household income by way of alternative livelihood through agro-forestry.
The project covers the community Barangays of Cabasan, Bugatay, Sisim, San Roque, and Mangga in Peñablanca. The Conservation International led the implementation of the project in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Peñablanca, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office 2, and Toyota Motor Corporation – Japan. Four cooperatives were established as beneficiaries of said project.
RPMC acknowledges completion of Addalam River Irrigation Project
SAGUDAY, Qurino, Jan.18 - -The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) expressed appreciation over the completion of the Addalam River Irrigation Project in Saguday Quirino after several years of delay in project completion.
NIA to convert Addalam Dam into infra-tourism
SAGUDAY, Quirino, Jan. 18 (PIA) -- The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) region 2 said it will convert the Addalam River Irrigation Project (ARIP) here, into infrastructure tourism to maximize its potentials not only to irrigate thousands of rice fields but also for the development of the tourism industry of this town and the whole province.
During the Regional Project Monitoring Committee held on Jan.16 at NIA-Addalam River Irrigation Project Office, Project Manager Estanislao Najera said the dam has big potential as tourist spot with its clear waters, a state-of-the-art dam and its accessibility to all types of vehicles.
More than half of projects are on-track
Fifty-eight percent of the major regional projects and programs monitored by the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) are currently on track of its schedule, reported National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 2 (NEDA RO2) during the Third Quarter RPMC Meeting held on September 30, 2011 at the Governor’s Function Hall, Nueva Vizcaya.
The Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) in Cagayan, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya is said to have completed 6 projects while 6 are still on-going. Likewise, the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) III of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has undertaken pre-feasibility studies on 53 projects and 48 of which were already validated.
